During a home inspection today in Fairlawn, Ohio, I found a room with multiple missing outlet cover plates. Although it is rare it is important to remember you can get electrocuted on accident in your own home because of missing cover plates. I personally take a case of white and a case of tan nylon preferred outlet covers with me on my home inspections.
It seems to have a very positive effect on my buyers, my agents, and even the sellers if they are around and notice me putting new cover plates on areas that are missing them. One day I was asked by an agent why did I bother to do that. I let her know it was because it is important to leave the home better than I found it.
More safe secure and aware than when I arrived. I want to protect my buyers and any small children they may have with them, myself and my agents during my home inspections.
Remember these covers only cost approx. $0.69 cents a piece and have a huge marketing impact on the people around me.
